Growing up in the Huon Valley, Emily’s keen interest in jewellery began at an early age with weekends spent selling her handmade beaded jewellery with her Grandma at local markets. She began her career after high school working retail in a jewellery store until she began an apprenticeship in Jewellery Manufacture in 2012. After working for an established Jewellers for 9 years, Emily started her own business, Emmire Jewellery. in 2021. 

A large part of Emily’s inspiration is drawn from antique jewellery; Edwardian, Art Nouvou, Victorian, and Celtic design. Her appreciation of these jewellery eras really transcends into the Emmire style. With a beautiful mix of vintage inspiration in a contemporary setting, Emily showcases stunning gemstones with intertwining design and delicate details throughout her work.

Gemstones are a great curiosity and love of Emily’s, with the majority of her work featuring an array of natural gems to intrigue and delight. She has gained a Diploma in Gemmology and is now a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Australia.

In her sunny studio, Emily works on her bespoke precious metal and gemstone jewellery, as well as collaborating with clients to create individual commission pieces.

Jewellery is a meaningful and individual way of expressing yourself; being able to create a piece that holds sentiment and meaning to the wearer is something Emily cherishes. She hand makes pieces to withstand the test of time, so that they can be passed down through generations.
