Catherine Morris

landscape oil painter

After a lifetime of music performance and working as a music educator, Catherine Morris made a move to the visual arts. Having had little opportunity while in the workforce, retirement allowed Catherine to extend her creative journey and navigate a transition from sound to image. Oil paintings have always held a fascination for her and finally she has had the opportunity to delve into that world.

As an emerging artist, Catherine takes inspiration from her love of bushwalking and the wonderful scenery and atmosphere offered by her home in Lutruwita/Tasmania. Photography also plays a part in capturing the ever- changing vistas presented daily.

Catherine works with oils, both on canvas and board and has been lucky enough to find a creative home with fellow artists at Studio 359 Lucaston where she paints every week.
