Bron Handscombe is the maker behind The Foraged Gumnut. Her practice moves across ceramics, eco dyeing, wood, textiles, paper, spinning and printmaking, all slow and disappearing crafts that invite patience, curiosity, and a deep connection to place.

Bron‘s work is rooted in her surroundings foraging plants, pigments, and small found objects from her local landscape amd letting them guide her patterns, palettes, and forms. She sees repeating patterns everywhere—tiny details in bark, leaf veins, seed pods—and these motifs find their way into the ceramic surfaces and textile work.

Sustainability sits at the centre of Bron’s practice as she works with second‑hand textiles, household waste, and reclaimed materials, giving them new life through eco‑dyeing, repurposing and visible mending. Each piece carries the story of what it once was and the landscape that shaped it.

Bron spent her childhood on a flower farm in Gariwerd (Grampians), where she first learned to pay attention to the plants, seasons, and soil. This early influence, along with her education in environment, geography, sustainability and resource recovery have informed her making so that every craft she practices allows her to slow down, notice the small details, and celebrate the quiet beauty held in the natural world.
