Anusuya’s practice explores the quiet, intimate moments that occur when light meets landscape — those fleeting instants when illumination causes a moment of reflection and focus on the present.  Inspired by the Impressionists and Australian landscape painters, she works across charcoal, graphite, coloured pencil, and oil painting to create impressionistic - aspiring to abstraction - interpretations of terrestrial and marine forests, and still life subjects. Anusuya’s compositions often blur representation and abstraction, inviting viewers to linger in the sensory experience rather than the literal scene.

Across mediums, she seeks to honour the small, intimate encounters with nature: the hush of a forest interior, the translucence of kelp drifting in waves, the stillness of objects touched by afternoon sun. The work is an ongoing exploration of how light reveals the quiet poetry of the world, and how those moments can be held, reinterpreted, and shared.
